Shopping is our favourite hobby which can get pretty expensive. As we are getting older we have more responsibilities in life. We can’t spend all our money on clothes, make up, home decoration…… we need money to survive! Luckily we are here to help you out.
- Budget
This is very important! Work out how much you spend on your normal life expenses so, you can figure out how much you can spend on shopping, dinners, coffees etc… Always keep in mind you do not want to end your month with: 0,- on your bank account. Make sure you want to keep money for your savings aside as well. By giving yourself a budget for the fun things you’ll have more control over your financial situation. Now you will first think 10 times before you actually buy something, as you are keeping yourself on your budget which means less wasting.
- Vintage shopping
Seriously vintage shopping is the best! Make sure you have got plenty of time once you walk into a vintage store as trust us, you are going to need it. From clothing to home decoration they have got it all. You can get gorgeous pieces from amazing quality. Don’t look to the size or model as you can change everything into anything. Be creative to everything you find in a vintage store from shoes to tables, everything! Do you see a dress with a beautiful fabric but you don’t like the model of the dress or is the size wrong, change it into a skirt, t-shirt whatever. All you need is time and patience. You will be able to find amazing things for very very good prices. Plus you are recycling clothes, home decoration etc which is so good for the environment, win win!
- Online coupon codes
A very easy way to save money is to look for online coupon codes. The only thing you have to do is google for an online coupon code. Once you have found one you only have to copy and paste it. That’s all you have to do for your 20% off, free shipping or who knows what kind of deal the coupon code has.
- Selling
Once in a while it’s worth going through your closet to see what you aren’t wearing anymore. You’ll be surprised how much stuff you actually have. Section the clothes you found into different sections, 1 clothes in good conditions which are worth selling, 2 clothes to giveaway and 3 clothes you might still use. Look online for a good selling website. In Holland we are mostly using “united wardrobe” for clothes, they have great quality and are very trustable. Take good photo’s of all the clothes and put it onto a selling website. Before you know it you made enough money to buy a new outfit!
- Sale/Outlet
The most obvious one, shop in the sale or go to outlet stores! It won’t cost you any effort and you’ll be saving so much money. Plan a shopping day to an outlet village or just take your time to shop during the sale season. Guaranteed you will be coming back home with so many good purchases with at least 60% discount, that are the deals we are talking about!
